romance15 math tho
Cass and Becky sit across from one another in the hotel hot tub. It’s two in the morning, so they are accompanied only by the chirping of crickets outside. They trade words and sip beers.
“Math?!”
Becky’s expression is amazed and confused, in equal parts. Before answering, Cass takes a long sip from her bottle.
“Math.”
Cass burps loudly, then takes another long sip while Becky waits eagerly for an explanation.
“I promised mother I’d go to college. She constantly stressed the value of education and hard work. Even during tours, she got me the best of the best tutors from all around to make sure I got my GED. Forced me to take lessons, even when I didn’t want to.”
Cass takes a moment to relax, breathe, and sit back.
“Math… I mean, I liked it as a little girl. I feel like I missed out on a lot back then, commanded by the cameras. Math might be one of those things. Besides, if I don’t like it, I’ll just pick Russian lit.”
